Découvertes à Beffe
October 2020. My husband and I sign the agreement to buy a plot of land in Beffe, a small village in the Belgian Ardennes. Corona has made us realise, together with many other people, that we wanted to connect more with nature. It’s the beginning of an exciting adventure. This series tells the story of my explorations.
But a plot of land is not an island. There are neighbours, a village life, nature… With my camera, I go out and explore the surroundings.
At first, I don’t get to meet that many people: corona and the ugly weather forces them to stay indoors. Little by little, I make the acquaintance of my new neighbours and other villagers.
I have also installed a camera trap in a corner of the plot. It reveals what I cannot normally see: the hidden inhabitants of Beffe.
